Frank Leeman

Born in The Netherlands, Frank has been working in the entertainment industry since he was old enough to work.

When he was 21 he made a documentary about a Dutch revolutionary and popular politician that ran for president but got shot a couple of days before the election. Frank was the only one allowed to follow this extraordinary man during campaign and filmed behind closed doors where other journalists couldn’t go, and filmed an event which ultimately lead up to his death. This documentary is the highest selling locally produced documentary in Dutch history.

He worked on multiple online interaction concepts, such as a mobile phone soap opera, which won a Ericsson Best Mobile Application Award in 2003. Later, while working with the same team, Frank worked on the first mobileTV broadcasting station in the world, called ‘Vodafone 2goTV’. This won a Spin Award in 2005 for ‘Best Mobile Concept’.

After this he established himself as a commercial director in Amsterdam, working for agencies like TBWA, PPGH/JWT (now Ubachs Wisbrun/JWT), Steam, Readershouse/HEARST, Novamedia and Hachette Filipacchi Media, which included projects for Audi, BMW, Esquire (NL), ABN-AMRO, Microsoft, Multi-Investment, Schiphol, MTV(NL), Vodafone(NL), Sony, UNICEF and the Postcode Lottery for which he travelled to 16 countries for a multi year campaign. And produced the critically acclaimed tv show ‘Marga’, based around retired news anchor ‘Marga van Praag’.

His photography was featured in the Dutch newspaper building ‘Trouw’ Amsterdam.

In 2010 he moved to the San Francisco Bay area.
